Valve announces the coming of Dota 2 to PCs and Mac in the year 2011. Dota is one of the most played games in the world with hundredfold of gamers.
Valve is updating its Steamworks system now to bring a dramatically different ancient Warcraft III engine. Visuals have been upgraded but remain close to its original cartoony style. It will bring back all of the WarCraft 3 mod's hundred-plus heroes but with a twist on social features. Dota 2 is not a remake but a sequel. It promises to take the unique blend of online RTS and RPG action.
